Song Birds of the Northeast
“Songbirds of the Northeast” is a colorful and vivid. John’s power point presentation featuring both photographs and recordings of our region’s songbirds is exceptional. The role of song in these birds' lives as well as their diet, social behavior, and other adaptations for survival are discussed. Participants also learn how to provide attractive
habitat for songbirds. Questions and comments are welcome.

John Root, naturalist and presenter of gardening and nature programs throughout New England is a Northeast Organic Farming Association, Certified Organic Landscaping Professional, He has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH. John did his Graduate Study in Botany, at the University of Maryland and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is an organizer of the Western Mass Pollinator
Networks which promotes the establishment of pollinator habitat on public and private land. He also a leader of edible wild plants walks throughout Massachusetts.

The Nature Lecture Series is co-sponsored by the Town of Bloomfield Leisure Services. They will host this as a free Zoom webinar. No user account is required, just a device with a web browser.
